Udon for days...

2:58 AM Posted by Julie No comments
....literally.

Due to a conflict of intrests with his boss, my dad quit his job a few weeks ago (this is kind of a normal thing). When my dad isn't cooking for other people, he's staying at home and cooking for us! We have been eating really, really, REALLY well at home ever since the holidays! At this rate I don't think I'm losing any holiday weight. :P

My dad made udon noodles, and he made a whole bunch! I've been consecutively eating udon for dinner this past week. My dad also made wontons too~

Nomnomnom I need to start learning how to made such good food for myself before I go to Japan!!

Which is why I picked up some good cookbooks during a sale my local university bookstore had :D

Suspenders...!

9:13 PM Posted by Julie , No comments
:D Last Friday's OOTD. I wore a new pair of jeans (that are made of actual denim and not that jegging crud, AND THEY HAVE REAL POCKETS), a nude chiffon button-up, a tan blazer, and suspenders~

Besides the jeans, which are from Papaya, the whole outfit is pretty much from H&M. I've been really into business casual fashion lately!

Got a lot of compliments from my coworkers about my outfit~

Jeo, I wonder how you'd look like in suspenders ;3

(My face after the biochem lec midterm..)

Felt pretty happy and confident with most of my exams.. Well, except BioChem. It's just a class I homestly struggle with not only because it's a bit hard for me to fully understand, but our ma'am's honestly not the best teacher in the world. She always expects this and that yet the way she teaches is often so ineffective. Right now, I checked and I have an F. But I'll be talking y chem lab midterm tomorrow, and I really hope I can bring this up. I've spent so much time on trying to understand biochem, yet I feel like it's never enough. It kinda makes me want to cry. Sigh. Most of my friends are on the same boat too. Ma'am's just a rather "forgetful" teacher at times. You really have to remind her things in order for her to bring it up too. Ugh. Chem's a pain in the ass. I may just take yet another allnighter just to survive this. I really want to pass this with a C or B- at least, if that's still possible. Planning to do more group studies to help understand it more too. I really hope things will turn out for the best in te end of this sem for my chem class. Are there any resources you could recommend to me to help me on this Julie? :(

With that aside, I'm quite alright I guess. I'm just a bit tired today, don't think I'll be able to pull that allnighter.
I'm still waiting for the lbc package from my parents to arrive though. I'll get my iphone and my headphones real soon!

I'll also be picking up some new weights this week! 2 10 pounders, it's the replacable weights ones too! I think it's a good investment to help myself become more fit.

In terms of games, I'm really excited for MH4U. Preordered for the first time ever, it feels nice to know I'll be getting perks like free goodies for preordering. But I'm upset that I can'y get the collector's ed :< ah well. With the money I have now, I've split it to my allowance for fruts and veggie snacks, games, and julie carefunds. I'll just keep saving up more money for any more possible great deals.

I'll continue my search again for Julie's care package on things she may like too! So far, I've delved into the world of food and snacks that may suit her likings. And they're really cheap here too! (well, the ones made here of course, american imports are mad expensive.)

Looking forward for MH4U next month, but I'll wise up a lot more on my studies for now as I anticipate its release!

All in all though, I miss you the most Julie. I wish you could be here by my side ride now. I need a good little picker upper after being so down about biochem. <3 I miss you and I love you oh so much <3

It's been a hard day's night....

And I've been working like a dog~

Beatles references aside, I had a really long day! Woke up at 8, got to work at 1030 and got slammed with two weeks' worth of office work. During the holiday season a lot of people requested off and went on vacation, so my manager needed me a lot in the restaurant, so I worked less in the office.

Then,  from 2:30-3:30 I had a meeting for my Management 320 class. None of my group members read the chapter we planned to read so we spent 90% of the time reading the textbook and 10% of actual planning....

it's going to be a long quarter.

Then I went back to work to finish up my work! Because the fax coversheet I used mixed up the fax and telephone number of the place I was trying to send documents to, it took a really long time to get it to go through! I ended up missing my last bus directly home.

But all was well when I got home! Because....

Food just is so magical! I had bánh mì (Vietnamese Sammich), rice with dry-ish shredded pork sirloin and skin, picked veggies (radish, cukes and carrots) in a special fish sauce and some omlette like eggs.

Now I'm full, happy and sleepy. (\( ; u.: )/)

Soon Tofu Soup!

12:05 AM Posted by Julie , No comments
Today I went to go eat out with an old coworker of mine. We went to a tofu house because I've been craving tofu soup for a long time! This time I went to a different place I usually go to, and I'm super glad I stepped outside my comfort zone!

I ordered an original soon tofu soup with beef (they were kinda stingy on the beef). What I liked is that you can control how spicy it is, and even though I got level 1 (mild) it was really spicy ; ____ ;

We were also given lots of appetizers! Our meal came with a nice sardine, cucumber salad, pickled radish, kimchi (not a fan of Korean kimchi so much because it is a little bland, I prefer it more pickled!), black bean rice, and seaweed salad. The service was so nice too!

My cowowrker Ron tried convincing me to ditch without paying and I adamantly refused because I was really pleased with the service and didnt want to run away without paying. He just shrugged and left to go smoke outside, while I asked the waiter for the bill...only to be told that Ron had already paid the bill XD sly old man!

; u ;) Jeo, I know you don't like spicy food but I do hope you'll go to a tofu house with me some day (btw they did have a no spicy soon tofu soup!)

Midterms: Day 1

First post for the new year :3
Midterms.. Yet another part of college life I'll strive to do my best on. It always reminds me of the experience of confronting the monster like after preparing your gear and practicing again st it. Really looking forward to pull my grades up where I struggle.
My first midterm was on english. It was mainly on IPA vowels and consonants, transcriptions and word stress. Easy peasy ( /); u ;)/) haha!

Tomorrow, I'll be taking my NCM and Filipino Midterm. Not really looking forward for filipino because to be honest.. it's really one of the biggest classes that I hate the most. It's just annoying to realize that this class is only really required because the deped wants this, yet it's ironic that they cut off this class from k-12 for some reason just so we can take it now. I just really find it to be a waste of time and a waste of money on my tuition :< it's not even that interesting. It's more on filipino literature, which really isn't the most exciting topic for a whole semester. The assignments feel so lackluster to where we're just given pages to do, and the teacher just skims through it and there's your grade. Sigh.. I'd rather take ip a foreign language class.
NSTP's another pointless class, but let's save the soapbox for another time XD
Just wished I had more choices to really tailor my classes without the unecessary stuff. And those extra fees we shouldn't even be paying for as students shouldn't be on there if we don't even get to use it.. it's like a college tax or whatever.. pupupu ; 3 ;)/)
gotta rest my head for a while for now!
; v ; tomorrow's a new day!!!
Stoked for MH4U's release. Even if I can't pick up the limited edition, I'll be satisfied with a regular physical copy for myself!

And from this day forward, I'm committing myself to post daily on the blog ; u ;)/)
